Not all concepts go into production, bearing all features shown in the concept. Yet, Cadillac effortlessly achieved this with the all-new Cadillac Lyriq. The 2023 Lyriq is the brand’s first fully electric vehicle. It rides on the parent company’s newly developed scalable battery architecture. This stylish all-electric midsize SUV will usher in a new generation of BEVs, Cadillac’s latest design language, and state-of-the-art tech features.
Cadillac says that the charming Lyriq SUV will be available in single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive models. This first Caddy’s luxury electric vehicle not only affords a sharp exterior styling but sports a contemporary styled and spacious cabin. A driving range of more than 300 miles and fast charging ability all makes leasing the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq an appealing choice if you want to go green.
The Cadillac Lyriq will enter production in the next couple of weeks (21st March) and will be available for leasing this year as a 2023 model.
Powertrain & Performance
Power comes to the 2023 Lyriq from a 12-module 100-kWh battery pack and a single electric motor at the rear wheels that delivers 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Although it has been confirmed that we will be getting an all-wheel drive version with dual electric motors (one at the front axle, the other at the rear), Cadillac is yet to offer the details about this model. Whichever Cadillac Lyriq version you decide to lease, you can count on getting sure-footed power, brisk acceleration, nimble handling, and relaxed ride quality.
Range & Charging
Cadillac says that the upcoming Lyriq will come with a 100-kWh battery pack and will be capable of going more than 300 miles on a full charge. This estimated range is slightly above what you can get from most of the EVs in the segment, which makes the Lyriq a more exciting alternative in its class. Cadillac has further confirmed that it’s working on enhancing the battery to tackle the issue around range reduction during cold weather.
The Lyriq will support a DC fast charging capability, allowing you to add up to 76 miles of range on the Lyriq in about 10 minutes. The Lyriq also comes with a 19.2-kW onboard charger, which Cadillac says can recharge the Lyriq by adding 52 miles of range every hour.
Interior, Cargo
Cadillac copied the interior of the latest Escalade and fitted it into the all-new Lyriq. Unlike the concept model, the Lyriq production will seat five. It will also feature all the latest tech niceties in the Cadillac’s arsenal, including the Super Cruise system with hands-free driving on the highway. Another exciting feature of the Lyriq’s interior is the stylish dash that sports massive curved screens for the digital instrument panel and infotainment touchscreen.
When it finally becomes available for leasing in PA later this year, it will compete with many EVs, but we believe that the Caddy’s EV can hold its own, thanks to its daring design, outstanding tech equipment, and remarkable range.
